What is Microneedling?

Microneedling, also known as skin needling, is a skin rejuvenation treatment that uses a digital skin needling device which has small needles to cause tiny micro channels in the skin. The stimulation caused by the needles leads to an increase in the production of collagen, a protein that is essential for skin elasticity. The procedure aims to improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, scars, and other skin concerns.

There are various different types of microneedling treatment, each having it's own unique advantages and limitations, and the choice of treatment depends on individual skin concerns, skin type, and desired outcome.

Meso GLOW Microneedling (non-Invasive)

This type of microneedling involves the use of our plastic 0.2 – 0.3mm needles. The plastic needles abrade the outer layer of the skin, creating a pathway for serums to penetrate and rejuvenate the skin from within.

Non-invasive micro-needling causes minimal trauma and therefore less redness and swelling but is still an effective treatment for minor skin concerns such as fine lines and wrinkles, dehydrated skin, skin tone and texture.

Meso+ Microneedling (invasive)

This type of microneedling involves the use of our metal 0.5mm needle and digital device that penetrates deeper into the skin than non-invasive needling. Creating controlled trauma to the skin results in stimulating the skin's natural healing process which then leads to an increase in collagen and elastin production.

Invasive micro-needling is typically used for more severe skin concerns, such as acne scarring, stretch marks, and deep set wrinkles and lines

Medical needling (Scar Revision)

Medical Needling, sometimes called Medical Microneedling, or Medical Dry Needling, is where a pin-point small needle is inserted into the treatment area to create trauma and force the skin to repair. Medical dry needling is typically used for treating different types of scars such as; atrophic scars, hypertrophic scars, burns scars and stretch marks.
